The Surb Amenaprkich Chapel was consecrated by Catholicos Aram I of Cilicia in a ceremony on Sunday the 16th of February 1997. The Catholicos praised the Kalaydjian brothers for their initiative in building the chapel and for their immense contribution to the Armenian Community in Cyprus. The newly elected Armenian Representative in the House of Representatives Mr. Bedros Kalaydjian welcomed Catholicos Aram I and paid special tribute to his brother Aram who had passed away in September 1995 and was not present to see the chapel's consecration. Mr. Kalaydjian also promised to pursue the humanitarian work of the Foundation which he had set up with his late brother.
